The Inspiration behind Hāpa Māma

HĀPA:  term used by Hawai'i locals to refer to a person of mixed ethnicity, especially with Asian and/or Hawaiian heritage.

The founder of this business took an exciting leap from the stunning shores of Hawai'i to vibrant California to join her husband at a new military duty station with her children. Feeling a bit overwhelmed first, she boldly transitioned into the contracting world as a Project Manager for government construction projects. While she enjoyed the work, her heartached for the beautiful Hawaiian Islands and her beloved family, and friends back at home. Instead of letting that longing hold her back, she transformed it into an opportunity, giving life to the creation of  HĀPA MĀMA . For now, she trades in her hard hats for an apron, stirring up delightful handmade confections in a commercial kitchen, all while spreading the joyful spirit, ‘Aloha, bringing her closer to back home on the Hawaiian Islands.
